Finally, it's ready!

There's a sense when a book arrives that your work is done. For published authors with a big marketing machine behind them that may be true. But it's only a milestone if you're self published. If writing a novel wasn't hard enough, the real work really begins right now. As I found out with my first novel. The temptation is to think that your book will sell by some kind of psychic osmosis but I quickly learned that doesn't happen. And in 2025 the volume of books you're competing with has multiplied rapidly.

Not to mention the wave of publications written by AI coming over the horizon!

Fortuitously, the hard copies arrived on the same day that the eBook went live on Amazon. I say 'fortuitously' because, after announcing a friends and family deal for the Kindle version, I was immediately contacted by a number of people who didn't have or use a Kindle and instead preferred to read the paper copy, requests I was able to immediately fulfil.

We're still more than a month away from the official publication date so the aim now is to get some reviews in before it goes live officially. Otherwise it has slim chance of being taken seriously or selling.
